About Susie Davies-Splitter and Phil Splitter

Susie and Phil have been working together for more than 25 years and are both expert music educators, musicians and composers. Their easy-going manner, love of music and ability to connect endears them to children and adults alike.

Susie and Phil firmly believe that all children can benefit from a sound developmental music program and that all Early Childhood educators can easily and successfully teach music regardless of their music background. Their vision is to help make teaching and learning music easy and fun for all and enrich peoples’ lives with the joy of music and the arts.

Susie, with a Master of Education degree from Melbourne University, is a music and movement educator, Orff practitioner, jazz musician, award winning composer and twice past president of the Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association (VOSA) in Australia. She is an ANCOS (Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk) accredited trainer and leads regular training in Australia, Singapore and China.

Phil has been composing and performing since an early age, playing guitar and percussion, as well as singing in many bands. He is also an accomplished workshop facilitator, motivational speaker, award winning script and songwriter as well as a dynamic and high calibre MC.

Susie and Phil have presented and conducted professional development workshops for teachers throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe, USA, Canada and Asia. They have also presented workshops and concerts at the International Society of Music Education (ISME) conferences in Spain, Malaysia, Italy and Greece and the American Orff Schulwerk Association (AOSA) conferences in Memphis, San Jose and Denver.

They have regularly presented shows, family music workshops, Artist in Schools programs, professional development PLAYshops for teachers, performances, and their popular ‘Musikeynote’ presentations at conferences.

Over the years, they have been commissioned to write songs for schools and organisations, develop music programs in preschools and schools and direct choral festivals and large scale musical events.

More recently Susie and Phil have set up a not for profit association  'Hearts in Harmony Community Music' (HHCM) -building healthy communities through inclusive music for all ages, faiths and cultures and raising awareness of the importance of active music making in schools and communities everywhere.

HHCM’s mission is to implement sustainable music programs that build capacity and social capital, develop positive connections, enhance health and well-being and embrace diversity in a fun, engaging and non-threatening environment.

Susie and Phil’s vision is to enrich lives through the joy of music, connect us to our hearts and inner beauty and unleash each individuals’ potential to be creative and compassionate human beings.
