A huge welcome to this membership-based Welcome to Music (WtM), Early Childhood - Babies and Tots Music and Movement Course for early childcare educators, music therapists, parents, and anyone working with babies and toddlers ages 0-3.
What's Included in this Course?
This 5 hour mini course covers the following:
A range of delightful rhymes, games, songs, folk dances, creative movement, musical stories, world music, percussion instrument activities, drumming and creative play for 3 - 8 years.
A downloadable 8 week creative music and movement program with developmental and sequential lesson plans and all activities for 0-3 years for one term
Links to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Australian Curriculum – Music and the Arts
Comprehensive and downloadable notes
Ongoing access to the video recordings of all sessions whilst a member of the Welcome to Music Community

Pre-Requisite
These courses are suitable for all those who are working with young children and no prior music experience is necessary.
Course Goals for 0-3 years
To learn how to teach and create a music and movement program for babies & toddlers including an 8 week creative music and movement program with developmental and sequential lesson plans for 0-3 years
Ideas on how to build teacher confidence
How to incorporate puppets, props, visuals, lullabies, and massage
Learn how to engage babies and tots to build motor function, foster listening skills and develop language.
To understand the research and benefits of music and movement
To learn how to use transition songs between activities
New ways to enhance learning across the curriculum (EYLF, NQS)
Hands on and practical activities that focus on creativity
Active and enjoyable music making that is appealing, immediately accessible and easy to use
How it Works?
Start by going through section 0 and then simply work at your own pace through each of the 6 sessions. Download the course notes if you wish, prepare the necessary equipment (instruments, props etc) watch and actively participate in the videos.
There are comprehensive time stamps for each video recording so you can easily find where you are up to or use them to watch a certain part or activity several times. The videos include edited parts of recent online courses plus all songs and activities demonstrated by Susie.
The notes contain all of the course activities including all lyrics, description, learning outcomes, resource and equipment. Many of the songs also include the music notation.
To access all of the music notation and audio tracks, please refer to the various resources. Most of the audio tracks are available on the streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.
